Investigating opportunities to minimise the impact of street and road works on climate change

HAUC(UK) and Transport for London (TfL) are looking for research partners to undertake a comprehensive study on the street and road works sector, the impact it has on the environment and opportunities for the sector to support the UK’s drive towards Net Zero and help tackle climate change.

Lane Rental Scheme Document (Final) - A Framework Guidance Document

Between September and October 2017 the Department for Transport consulted on the future for Lane Rental Schemes and announced its plans in February 2018 to allow highway authorities to bid for and to set up schemes. The ‘Lane Rental Schemes Guidance’ for English Highway Authorities who wish to develop proposals to operate lane rental schemes was released by the Department for Transport in September 2018 and July 2021. Lane rental involves charging Promoters who carry out road and street works for the time their works occupy.
