Bus Route and Streetworks Coordination tool is a new supportive planning tool developed by Transport for West Midlands to help coordinate streetworks more effectively across the West Midlands' bus corridors. With a total of 362 bus routes, of which 97 cross one LA boundary, 33 traverse two or more LA boundaries and 82 extend beyond the combined authority area to serve customers from our neighbouring shire authorities, the tool’s main purpose is to assist better-informed decision making around highway occupancy and public transport scheduling to minimise compound disruption to journeys.
Powered by Street Manager data, BuSCo provides real-time visibility of planned and current significant streetworks, such as road closures, lane closures, and temporary traffic signals. The tool overlays this information with live bus route data, enabling users to clearly see where streetworks may affect bus services and bus stop infrastructure. This data can be downloaded in a tabular format for easy reference and reporting.
