On Sunday 19 October, the Government released its long-anticipated Clean Energy Jobs Plan, setting out a roadmap to create 400,000 new jobs by 2030. The Plan identifies 31 priority occupations and announces the formation of the Office for Clean Energy Jobs (OCEJ) — a new team within the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, dedicated to boosting skills and training across the clean energy sector.
The OCEJ will act as a central hub, bringing together industry, trade unions, and training providers to tackle skills shortages, align workforce development with sector growth, and ensure high-quality employment standards.
