The Department for Transport has allocated £104 million in resource funding through the Local Transport Grant (LTG), supporting areas outside major cities not covered by CRSTS. Covering three financial years between 2026 and 2029
This funding aims to boost local authorities’ capability and capacity to:
- Develop and update Local Transport Plans
- Deliver infrastructure priorities in partnership with regional stakeholders
Importantly, it’s not intended for day-to-day transport service delivery. Guidance on usage will follow.
Transport Secretary Heidi Alexander said the investment will “connect communities with jobs, education and essential services.”
